Through a process of investigation, and following a methodology of interviews with refugees and people in exile, we recover eye witness accounts from people who went through exile at the end of the Civil War and during Franco’s rule, identifying analogies in the experiences of some refugees who landed in Valencia in recent years. Retrieving shared memories makes it possible to remember what they went through decades ago, looking for the elements that unite us in experience, and learning from our history to find factors that will help us improve how we welcome people arriving here today.
