In a literature exam, a 16-year-old high school student called Melisa hands back a blank exam. When her teacher pulls her up on it, Melisa attacks her by saying that everything they have to learn at school is pointless. Among laughter and ridicule, the teacher does her best to defend her position as a teacher and as a person and encounters the difficult task of justifying the discredited education that she teaches. The discussion will be the trigger for these characters, in theory antagonists, to discover that perhaps they have more in common than they believe.
